its gotta be a mk2 golf gti,i had one its the best car i ever had,its a oldey but pure class u get a chance of a good one grab it,i now drive a jag but still miss my Golf gti.if you can afford it any Golf Gti is the best car you can buy mayby not the fastest but definatly the best allrounder bar none,from new to old its the best car you can buy in the world,it also holds its value very well.
Skoda fabia vrs, deisel best mpg of the hot hatches, decent build quality, understated, 5 doors so practical too, it'll leave your citreons and corsas at the lights, the deisel takes a second to find its power, but one its there it's advisable to wear a collar to avoid whiplash
There are so many good one's now. But over the years there has been some right dogs made. My personal favorite is the Renault Clio 2.0 Williams 1.

Astra VXR is great, as is the Astra SRI Turbo..new Golf GTI is a real driver's car, and the MPS 3 a power-shot player. all look great, though the Astra's are real head-turner's. all well built, powerful and roomy, plus loaded with safety gear and equipment.i'd have one of these any day.if only..

going back a few years then the 205gti, renault 5 turboand the astra gte 16v.
like the new golf but build quality on the later vw's very worrying
