Clapham to Islington without going through central london?

What is the best way to get to Islington is I am driving from clapham? I know the best tube route but I need my car later on!

Answers:
If you would like the scenic route try A1 195 miles North then left ( West ) on M62 about 10 miles then left at M1 (South ) 194 miles. It may be a little on the long side but it's very pretty.
Round the M25, then down the M11.
If all you are doing is avoiding the Congestion charge I would suggest Vauxhall, Victoria, Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Edgeware Rd, Marylebone Rd, Euston Rd, Islington High Street. These are main roads and the fastest route. If you want to avoid Traffic Xmas morning is a good time.
Good luck!

I would defo go with the route above, although I would leave now if you want to be there in time for xmas
Many of the route planners online have the option to choose to avoid paying any charge. Here are some.

Not the M25 - the South and North circular roads, although you'd still be better off driving through central London - just do so outside the congestion charge times.
