My partners car went in for a service today its a peugeot 206?

I've checked the bill and theres no indication that the electrics have been messed with, she says the radio won't work, it illuminates and she can change stations but there is NO sound?? Any ideas peeps??

Answers:
on a servive there sould be no need to really go inside the car aspecially in the centre console area, also thr shouldnt be any need to remove battery as they dnt really mess with the electics ( being tht the only electric part they'll change is spark plugs which are not powered unless u turn the ignition) id go back and ask wht they actaully done and if they remove the battery as a safety precation.if they do u might need the code for the radio ( it might be printed on a sticker on top of the player ull obviously have to take it out to c..if ur getting the cd/cassete playing sound and its just thr radio that isnt workin check the back of the player for the ariel lead..there should be a socket with several pins which is ur speakers and power and thr should be a seperate lead for the arial( none of this should however have bn touched during a service)
I don't mean to sound silly - but have you tried the volume!!
Most likely explanation is that the garage for some reason has disconnected the battery on the car and the radio needs its code entering to get it to work properly again, its a rudimentary anti-theft measure designed to stop light fingered gits pinching car stereos. Unfortunately it can be very easily overcome with the right gear.
If you have any concerns about the quality of the service received you should take it back to the servicing dealer so they can check it out and sort it for you (for free of course).
Without wishing to sound cheeky the radio doesn't have a mute button by any chance?
Its more than likely that the battery was disconected at the garage for some reason and that it needs resetting - although if the radio is standard to the car then the garage must have surely known this and done it for you! Have a look in the glove box for the radio code and follow the instructions. If the radio isn't standard to the car, i would either phone the garage and ask them if they may disconnected something by mistake - check the wires at the back of the radio - if you can access it and make sure they are all in and nothing has slipped out. Hope this helps, if not, could always sing to each other as you drive?
if you are not happy return it to the garage I'm sure they will sort it for you if they value there customers
