IC4 - Portugal. Construction date and route please!?
Plans were drawn up in 1988. The last plan of route was in 1999. As yet, nothing has been built.
I am interested in the section near the town of Odemira. Apparently (and this is only what i heard) the delays are due to the 1988 plans crossing a major national and protected forest (The Costa Vincentina National Park - designated in 1995!). A possible re-route to skirt this forest was/is considered but I cannot find anything on the internet so remains hearsay. The IC4 route will run from Sines to Faro. I am only interested mainly in the Odemira portion of this route as to when/if and where exactly it will be built. Thanks.
