UK ONLY.If i buy a car with no MOT?
Answers:
legally - if your car has no MOT you are not allowed to drive it other than to the place where you are going to get the MOT
however, the chances of being prosecuted for driving it after buying it i think would be really remote. if you are definately buying it then phone a garage and book it in now - also get proof that you are buying the car - photocopy the registration certificate etc. take a copy of something with your address on it - driver license etc. all this means that if you are stopped on the way home you can explain your actions and give the police proof. they are more likely to be understanding and they can phone the garage to check out your story.
hope this helps
No MOT, no insurance, no drive. You have an accident, you get a HEAVY fine!
You need to arrange an appointment with a garage for an MOT and drive it directly there for the appointment from where you collect the car. That is the only situation in which you can legally drive a car without an MOT, if you are taking it to a garage for the MOT test and have proof of an appointment.
I think - You can only drive it on the road to attend an appointment at an MOT testing centre.
It most likely invalidates your insurance too, if its classed as unroadworthy.
You can only drive it back if the vehicle is taxed and insured providing you can prove that you are taking it for an MOT test. Unless this has changed.
No but.
Provided you have a pre-arranged appointment for an MOT and you are on your way to the appointment. Should the vehicle fail the test then you can drive direct to a place where remedial work to repair the defects will take place.

Doesn't matter where you buy the car, if it hasn't got a MOT it isn't road legal.
If you got stopped by the cops, the only way you would get away with it is if you was taking it for its MOT test. Other than that they could charge you. Unless your a bird with a short skirt and you've forgot to wear any panties!! lol
cant drive it mate unless you are going to a pre arranged MOT appointment, if you are a member of the RAC you can have it recovered to anywhere you want though.
definitely not you must have insurance to be on the road and you cant get it without a MOT ,get caught and it's points on your license and a fine too.
Firstly it is illegal for anyone to try and sell a car without a mot certificate. I sugest that if you buy a car from anyone ensure that it has a current certificate. DO NOT attempt to drive a vehicle without a mot cert as you not only risk a heavy fine but also your licence, plus technicaly your insurance becomes invalid. Not worth the hassle my friend
no you can't as it is classed by the local driving licencing (dvla)agency.as unroad worthy so get it fixed and get an mot after you tow it home on back of a truck.
its just £40 fine but make an appointment with garage so you can prove it you were going to do it but make sure you are insured and the vihicle must be taxed
