How long is it before you need to test a new van at a test center?

i think it has to be 3 years old b4 it requires an MOT test.
Every vehicle, be it a car or a van, requires an MOT certificate from the day that it is 3 years since first being registered.

3 years unless it is a PSV or Minibus in which case 2 years

if its just a van then at the 3 year point, if its a taxi then needs test straight away.
