Does any1 know wot the gap on spark plugs r?
Answers:
The gap should be 1 mm , as for running you're car will still run if you have 1 bad plug , but the best advice is don't , coz it will potentially damage you catalytic converter , which is very expensive , a set of plugs costs about a tenner at most , better to change them , NB most spark plugs are ready gapped when new and listed by application
to let the electricity through?
sorry i have know idea what i am talking about
If you telephone vauxhall garage that services cars ask for technical services they will advise you on correct settings, yes your car will run on three spark plugs but not very well .
Get a Haynes Manual, it will be in there.
25 thousandths of an inch is most common
Your car will still run BUT very badly. This could also cause your exhaust system to fail. Spark plug gap should be printed on a decal somewhere in the engine compartment,
The gap on the spark plugs is usually printed in your manual or somewhere in the car (driver door on most cars) . Most auto parts stores will gap them for you also if you ask. A bad spark plug is kind of like having a short, it causes an interruption in the flow of electricity. Your car may run but not to full potential with one bad spark plug or not at all depending where its at in the timing sequence. most parts stores (autozone, parts america, napa) have online sites that can further help you with this also.
Hello,
some Champion plugs to choose from:
(assuming you have the X 14 XE DOHC engine)
RC9YC (equivalent to Bosch BCPR6ES) - 0,7 mm
EON2 - 0,95 mm
Your car will run with worn plugs, but since the combustion won't be so efficient, the fuel consumption and performance/driveability and emmisions will suffer.
Regards
the gap should e between 2 or 3 mm apart so the spark of electricity can jump ans ignite the petrol air mix
and yeah it would work, roughly and it would suck the fuel right out of your tank but it would work
check in the workshop manual
james b wake up from that dream world mate 2-3 mm christ it would never start,
right go to Halfords or any similar store and look out for the manuel section go to it look up your car take a squint at the info you need, then buy some V- spark plugs they are as cheap and give you a better performance, thats after you gap them buy the tool at the same place or be really cheecky and ask them to do it for you. good luck
Hi man. As a mechanic, if I have no feeler gauges then the exact width of a piece of a cigarette box is absolutly perfect for the gap between the electrodes. Believe me , it works!
You can call any local parts store to get the correct gap of your cars spk plg yes your car will still run, but it will run like crap. It'll skip.
