Towing weights?
I shall be towing a caravan.
The van towing is a toyota Hiace 2.5ltr

Some nonsense answers above!
Toyota list the new Hiace as being able to leally pull 2000kg. That should cover almost any caravan you could find.
The kerbweight is roughly 2000kg also so be wary of stability if towing anything over 1500kg.
Good luck.
Towing weight & hitch weight should be listed on the sticker on the drivers door jamb.
hi first let me tell you that is is not recommended that you tow with your vehicle. your vehicle is not really designed to tow. if you chose to the caravan you may want to instal front wheel towing lift for the caravan, but remember that your rear suspension may not hold up to the weight. most of the smaller vans like yours do not have towing weights listed so it is a judgement call, good luck
The weight caravan should not exceed 66% of the kerbweight of the van.
The Gross Train Weight (G T W) is listed on the chassis plate as below.
Vin (17 characters)
G V W (kg)
G T W (kg)
Axle 1 (kg)
Axle 2 (kg)
The Gross Vehicle Weight (G V W) is the maximum weight your van alone can be. The Gross Train Weight (G T W) is the maximum your van and trailer/caravan can weigh together.
The Axle 2 weight is the maximum weight that can be put on the rear axle, but a caravan shouldn't trouble this much.
NB: If a heavier trailer was being used for business purposes this van would require a tachograph and be subject to tachograph and driving time laws.
