If my car is a wright off, how much can i get for it?
Answers:
whatever the blue book value of it is.
ask the scrap dealer probably about 25 - 30 pounds thats what i got for mine
depends where u take it sum places are proper shady look around
A dealership might give you a lot more than it's blue book worth just to get your business. A junkyard might pay you about $40 for the parts that can be resold on the car. That's how much I got for my other car and that was about how much a club cost to protect my newer car.
Not enough. Don't take what the insurance offer first time, fight then and you will eventually get an acceptable figuar. If the car is worth £1000 they will offer £400, you argue and 6 months later settle on £800.
The insurance company will make you an offer when you put your claim in. It depends on the condition of the car before the accident and its age. It will be a write-off if the cost of repair is more than the value of the car.
depends what it is and how badly it is wrecked.
spares will sell better than the whole thing, but then you have got to dissasemble it.
Depends - usually the pre-accident value of the car (PAV). Whoever's dealing with your claim may try and haggle with you though. And be warned if you only insured your car for £1500 and the PAV is £3000 - then you'll only get paid out £1500. Oh and you can keep the car as salvage if you want but your insurance company may deduct the salvage amount from your settlement. Might be a good idea if it's only BER (beyond ecomonical repair) and not a structural write off!
If the car is insured and you are claiming off the insurer, then there is a good possibility that they will offer you bottom book value, ie the lowest in glass,s guide. If you accept this, then most insurance companies wont allow you to keep the car although some may offer you the chance to buy it back from them again. The category of damage is importatnt if you get to sell the car as only Cat D&C cars will be allowed back on the road. If its cat c, the car needs a Vehicle identity check before it is allowed back. Cat A&B are scrap only. Try advertising it locally at a price that would still make it attractive to repair. Its worth a try.
