If a car was traveling at the speed of light what would happen when you switch on the head lamps ?
Answers:
The light would travel in front of you at the espeed of light, just as if you were standing still. The difference would be the frequency. The light you normally see would be in a much higher frequency than your eyes could detect, so you'd have to use a much lower frequency system. Believe in or not, depending on how well the frequencies compress you may need to replace your headlights with a set of speakers and play a continuous drone through them, as it may be voice frequency radio waves that you would see at that point. I don't know exactly how well the frequencies would compress so may not reach this level, but they would compress beyond microwaves and into radiowaves frequencies.
Using normal car headlights the light given off would probably appear as gamma rays to a stationary object.
the bulbs light up
I suppose they'd go on !
i guess whatever was in front of you wouldnt see the lights untill they actually hit them in the face, i guess if you were already traveling at the speed of light then the lights on your car would take the same time to get to something as your car would, therefor the light wouldnt hit it untill you were on top of it ?
lol i dont know, that just my theory
i failed science lol but the theory is right i guess
Um, the head lights would come on. nothing since your *at* the speed of light. now, if you were traveling faster than that, your lights would be behind you. but, i could be wrong.
NOTHING! When you saw this question asked a couple days ago, why didn't you just read THOSE answers
The lights would come on, then I suppose they would penetrate no further than the light itself. It is something we wwill see never happen.
you would see better.
They would go on
dude, you have way too much time on your hands, get a job or spark one up
According to the theory of relativity, can't travel that fast. Einstein asked himself the same question, and it was the impossibility to answer it that led him to that idea.
You would be still in the dark.
The lights would go on - but light nothing up as you would reach whatever was trying to get lit up - it would already have gone past you- A bit like this answer!
You would see where you are.
nothing. It would have atomised by then
The Doppler effect would cause the light from the headlamps to travel at the speed of light PLUS the speed of the vehicle. As for Einstein's theory concerning the speed of light can't be exceeded, isn't that what some scientists said about the speed of sound?
If you where on a train travelling at 100mph and you ran along the corridor at 10mph you would collectively be moving at 110mph, I believe that light would do the same
you would be able to see Armageddon
Is thr car going forward or reversing?
can i buy the car?
