do you mean only double deckers? there are also single decker red buses and the fun bendy red buses. also there are many private red buses including mini buses and VW buses, i don't think you'll find a definate number unless you have contacts in the DVLA!!
Do you mean the traditional double-decker red Routemaster ( some of which were green anyway)? They have been phased-out since 2005, and there are now only a few operating on what are called 'Heritage Routes'.
If you mean red buses in general, including all the bendy-buses, and the like, I have no idea. Perhaps it's a question LT could answer, or any of the private transport contractors may give you some figures.
