Windscreen is badly scratched can I polish these out or do I need to replace?

Answers:
Take it to a windshield place if they can repair it they will or they will replace my insurance is free for repairs excess only applies to replacement worth finding out
Replace if it bothers you. You will not be able to polish them out. Most insurance covers windscreens, you may have to pay the first £50 or so, but it is worth it. And remember the windscreen is part of the MOT. Good luck
There is usually a clause on your insurance to get a windscreen replaced cheaply and quickly.
According to the adverts I hear on the radio for auto glass, your best idea is to take it to a professional and get them fixed up.

They shouldn't need to replace it but do some work. Probably better than trying something yourself, and a quote can't hurt.

If you are in the UK and a member of the RAC or AA they have a resin injection service that can eliminate the need to replace an get rid of cracks and chips in the glass. I have had it done and you cannot seee the place where it was. Give it a try it works really well.
you can polish them out ive seen some stuff on a shopping channel that does it but you need a drill so you can buff it
depends on how bad the scratches are and whereabouts regarding the mot . there are companies out there that can hide them by filling the scratches and then polishing but you would have to weigh up the cost against a new screen. hope this helps
Try polishing windscreen with T-Cut (plain. not a coloured variant). If this fails you will almost certainly need to replace your windscreen.
Youcan get repair kits off eBay to polish out scratches ,but these won't work if scratches are deep. But if your insurance policy covers windscreen damage take that route.
There are certain places that polish and give maintenance with special compounds. Look it up in yellow pages
Windshield treatment or so .
You could have it sand-polished but if their on the inside this is no good. Best bet is just to replace it, doesn't cost much and you can normally claim this on your insurance policy without it being registered as an actual claim, therefore no loss in no-claims.
