How do i get engine oil out of carpet?
Answers:
buy a new carpet and stop parking your car in your house
You don't.
try lots n lots of bleach
or just cut the piece out and stick another piece in from under a piece of furniture.
"Grease Lighting" cleaner, is pretty good stuff. I can't say it will do the job but it will make a dent on it.
The only thing I know of is Resolve.
try shaving cream, let it sit the blot with a white towel
If its pretty new oil, not the old black dirty stuff. This is whats worked for me. Use boiling hot water mixed with lots of dish soap.
Scrup it in to the stain with a tough dish brush, let it sit for 10 min. Then suck it up with a shop vac ( wet or dry vaccum cleaner). Then pour just straight boiling hot water on the stain and scrub again and repeat till it's sweet and clean again..
Fairy Washing-Up Liquid. It's what they use to get oil out of seabirds caught in oil-spills.
Alternatively, try some No-Wet Wonder Foam, amazing stuff, but it costs.
you want break fluid pure some on the area to be treated leave on for 2 seconds and then wipe of with a damp cloth do a sample test first to make sure the colour dose not run or fade
A decent de-greaser will get it out, only problem is you won't remove it without permanently marking the carpet, but this won't be as bad as a big oil stain in the middle of it!!
buy a bottle of good malt wiskey pour on some on the oil stain and then drink the rest of the bottle, you won't see the stain when you are finished.
