Peugeot 206 Warning Light?
Someone has today told me that I need to get the car serviced. This will get rid of the spanner which will in turn stop the warning light coming on.
Is that it right??
Answers:
when you get the car serviced, you need to get the service light reset. you need a special tool to do this, the light will not go off if you service it yourself. you dont necessarily have to bring it to a peugeot dealer, some independent garages have the same tool. if the engine management light is also coming on then i would make sure that whoever serviced it put in the right plugs cos if the wrong plugs are in it then the coil can get ****** which in turn can blow the ECU. i wouldn't wait too long either.
if you get it serviced by a peugeot garage they will turn the spanner off for you, and im sure they'll have a go at figuring out the diagnostics light too. but don't expect miracles and be prepared to pay over the odds for a main dealer service!
the reality is , you have purchased one of the most unreliable cars available on the modern market.sell it quick before its scrap. as it stands your car which you paid 8-9k for is now only worth 2500-£3000. sad but true.
Despite what you would like to believe, if the spanner light is on, it needs servicing. This may extinguish the engine-management light in turn, or there may be other causes for this. It needs to be assessed by a Peugeot dealer with the correct diagnostic gear.
