You can't really do F1 racing as that takes years of practice and the cars are worth about 3 million pounds. You can drive sports cars around a track though. I was bought that gift for Silverstone, although I changed it to off-road driving.

You can't drive F1 cars, I went on a day driving Formula Ford cars which was fun, try red letter days.
Hi Emma - what a cool present! Your best bet it to Yahoo! or Google 'F1 experience days' and go from there. I used Red Letter Days for a driving experience for my Dad, it cost £250 and he drove a Ferrari, a Lotus, a Porsche and.b*ugger, cant remember! Anyways, 3 laps in 4 cars and he LOVED it!
I think F1 is the same if not more expensive so set aside £200 - £300. You could split the cost between other family members, thats what I did.
Re where to do it, we went to Silverstone in Northhants for Dads but Im sure there are a few other places to do it.

i got my boyfriend a rally driving day at silverstone last year. they averege out anywhere from £100 upwards depending on what you buy. they dont normally do f1 cars tho but are a few like it. wh smiths sells them in packs. i got mine out of a back of a catoulogue, or type in race day experience on a search engine. i belive boots sell it aswell. they do it up and down the country but you will have a chioce when you come to booking.

impossible! to drive anything remotely like a f1 car isn't ever possible. What is and are availbale is sports cars experiences with ferrari's etc which is very fun and are available as gifts. to drive f1 cars, u need a race licience to start with, then loads of cash! try http://www.eventa.co.uk/
