How long does a uk provisional car licence last for?

Answers:
there is an expiry date on it and it will be the day before your 70th birthday. if you have passed your test then you have about 2 years to exchange it for a full licence, after that you'll return to a learner again.
untill you get your proper licence
you can drive on your provisional for 2 years
Until you get your proper car.
2 Years after you pass your test then you have to pay for your full lisence
The provisonal licence lasts for I'm pretty sure at least 10years. Trust me, I had mine for about 3 before I passed last week.
The thing to remember though is once you do your theory test, you have two years to pass your practical test in. If you don't pass it in two years. You have to take the theory test again.
Once you pass your practical test, I have discovered that you are on probabation for two years, which basically means if you manage to clock up 6 points. They take your licence away, and you start again with applying for a provisonal licence, then theory test, then practical.
Hope this helps.
Until your 70, then if you havent passed you test by then you would have to apply again.

Once you've passed your test you can drive on a provisional for 2 years but if you dont send off for the full licence then you would have to take the test again.
