Yes check ur spark plugs for rust but DON'T spray them with wd40 dry clean them also check the seals on ur air filter, clean and dry out . Have a can of Damp Start handy in the mean time hope this helps m8.
WD40
Yes sell the car and buy a new 1!!
Keep it in the garage.
Don`t leave it in the rain then
blow it up
Clean the sparkplugs and make sure they keep dry with WD40.
I know it's a vintage now - but maybe just buying a new(er) car?
it must not be a diesel, so do a tune-up, point, plugs and wires and spray with waterproofing
buy a new one! or a can of wd40
Vaseline on the HT leads works for my motorbike.
I'm with Wiz.
WD40 cures all and smells great too.
Grrrrrr.
Most plug leads are made of carbon fibre nowadays, it could be that they are breaking down. Especially if they are the original leads. A new set of leads may solve the problem.
condensation, spray or replace ht leads and try a new distibuter cap.
park it in a garage
check to see if your distributor cap is tight or even crack ,if so moisture is getting in side the cap .
You can buy ignition sealer from any car parts shop. people use it on landrovers for example, when they go offroading.. i know i have kept a V8 running in a stream using it..
