Focus steering problems?

Still having problems, jacked the front end up and moved the wheel round with my hands and there is a knocking noise when doing this anyone recognize that, other signs are wandering, bit of play in steering and wheel wobble 65-70 plus. Also general instability.

Answers:
bearings
whatever it is, get it to a garage.

could be a wheel bearing, a suspension mount, bottom ball joint. in any event you'll shat yourself if it lets go on the road.
It could be a loose or stripped nut somewhere. I used to get a knocking noise in my Audi that turned out to be a loose nut on a drop link.

Also wheck all your wheel nuts are on tightly. Sounds obvious, but it happens all too often.
the brake pads are insecure and going to harm the discs, im a mechanic
Sounds like a wheel bearing, my advice is go to a local independent garage, avoid kwik-fit -, charlie browns etc, all you are paying them for is the name. Try yellow pages and find one near to you.
knoking noice is normaly suspention or drop links but as far as steering is concerned i would go to ford it could be the sub frame out of line or maybe a new rack
wobble is normally ballencing but in your case i think this is a little more.
Does it have rack and pinion steering? If so more than likely the rack is shot.
look new bearings needed
