What is the torque setting for the drive shaft nut on a 1996 model honda accord?

are there any special tools required (apart from coil spring comprssor) to change the front shock absorberon the same car

Answers:
front hub nut 245NM, supposed to replace the nut but most people never bother.

rear 39-47NM
I've got no idea on the torque level, but the first answer sounds pretty reasonable and they've backed it up with a source.

I've just got a few pointers for you regarding special tools.
You will need a torque wrench that will tighten to 245Nm. This is a bloody high setting and not usually withing the range of "standard" torque wrenches. Best bet is to tighten as much as you can, then take it to a local mechanic to get them tightened up properly. Slip them a fiver for the job.
Be careful with the coil spring compressor, I've heard of them failing and getting buried in the ceiling of your garage - that's after the spring has shot through the wing of the car.
Use plenty of WD-40, after 10 years those nuts and bolts are going to be tight! You'll also need new split pins to secure the nuts afterwards - My '94 Accord doesn't appear to have heard of NyLocks!
Will be advisable to change the rubber bushes too while you're at it, unless they have been done recently.

Other than that all you need is a good tool kit and the helping hand of a mate. A Girlfriend or wife is also handy to have on standby to make butties and cups of tea. But you probably figured that out already :-)
