Europeans!!?
I am am taking my car to europe but will be leaving it there / selling it/dumping it, could anyone tell me what the law is to enter the country with a car and leave without. I am not sure which country this will be.
Answers:
If you enter Europe with a car and leaving without it, I'm afraid you'll have to pay a customs duty for the car you left behind or if you are selling it the person who will buy the car. Someone have to pay..
:))
Different laws for different countries. You will have to be more specific. I would suggest you phone the consulate/embassy to find out for each possible country.
why would it be a problem and why would you waste your money to bring it to Europe and dump or sell it etc? Do it back home! And whatever you do with it, youl fill in a form to declare its not yours anymore anyway.
It's not worth the money to ship it over - sell it now and use the money to buy a car in Europe (NOT THE UK - HERE IN THE UK WE PAY THOUSANDS MORE FOR A CAR THAN IT COSTS ANYWHERE ELSE IN EUROPE). Having to collect the car from customs would be a damn rigmarole (a major inconvenience).
Hire cars are cheap and plentiful in Europe and would save you a lot of time, money and legal beaurocracy - take my advice enjoy your tripn to Europe don't get involved with so much paperwork.
I hope you have a fi=un visit to Europe.
