Why is Betsy a common name for a car?
Answers:
because harrald robbins wrote a novel "The Betsy" which was about a car company .i think it was a movie also.very good! THE BETSY was about a failure of a dream much like the "Tucker" car..a man designs a car and builds a factory and after 10 cars the whole thing colapses somehow.

Oh don't you remember sweet Betsy from Pike,
Who crossed the wide prairie with her lover Ike,
With two yoke of oxen, a big yellow dog,
A tall Shangai rooster, and one spotted hog?
