At that age water can get into the wiring. Those models were a little susceptable to that which would cause the problems your describing.

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring. Possibly one of the bare wires is touching metal somewhere and shorting them out. As you hit bumps in the road it causes them to go off until you hit another bump when they come back on.
Check the abs sensors at the wheels one maybe faulty.
Take it to a local auto parts store ask them if they could run a diagnostics test on the computer it would tell you where the problem is and if you post where or what the problem is i can walk you through how to fix it
