Charging problem?
have changed the battery and alternator and this hasnt rectified the problem. battery light on constant. after a short while abs light comes on too and shortly after the car cuts out as battery is then flat.

sometime there is a fuses link between the alternator an battery just check the wire from there
could be a faulty earth or a wire shorting to earth one of these two options i would say faulty earth
sounds like the battery is bad or an short in the alt. wires

my fiesta used to do this a lot - we changed the spark plugs and cap and it fixed the problem!
check the Field coil wires (the plug ) for power and ground with the car running
you might check the starter
have you checked the charging rate of the alternator it should be between 13.6 and 14.3 roughley when you have got all the electrics on in the car ie heater wipers lihgts on full
check the charge rate off the back of the alternator first if not ok dodgy new one this can some times happen! if ok then wireing fault in system
check earth connections
