What should I buy. Fiat Punto or VW Polo?

I have about £2k to spend. The Polo's I can buy are obviously a lot older than Punto's for the same amount of money. Which do you think is the better car/buy, or would you reccomend something completely different?!

fiats are poor build quality and there not well known for being reliable

vw's have a reputation these days for very good build quality and are excellent runners
Polo if you just want sensible, reliable transport. Puntos are clearly better looking cars, and nowadays your money can get one of the sharp-looking early MKII models. They're usually ok, but watch out for electrical niggles and badly worn trim.
punto as long as it is in very good condition and has fsh otherwise polo but like you said they will be older models!! punto there excellant cars!! i would recomend a peugeot 106 as they are excellant cars for a person like you . no matter how old they are you wont get rust because there made out of galvanised metal excellant runners cheep to run good on fuel (the smaller engines e.g 1.1 1.2 1.4 1.6 good first cars good on insurance 2!!
Yeah defo a Polo before a Punto. Punto's are hairdresser cars hahaha.
i would go for the V W sturdy if thats what you want and not looks
