Has anybody out there took more than 2 times to pass there hazard perception i have mine next week second go?

There is a bit of a skill to the hazard perception test which if you're not told about you wont know. What they are looking for is DEVELOPING hazards, not just hazards. The easiest way i find to explain is by example.
If you see a pedestrian walking near the road, click. If he keeps walking, no problem ignore him.
If he looks behind him click again (Usually when people look behind them they are looking to cross the road). If he steps into the road, click again. This is obviously the hazard. Once you have done this move onto the next hazard and forget about it.
On average you would be looking at 3 clicks per developing hazard, 1 for the potential, one when it develops, and one when it becomes a hazard.
Once you have spotted the hazard, don't assume its the end because there are 14 clips but 15 hazards, meaning one of the clips has two hazards to find.
At the minute there are several disks on the market which can help you to practise for this test, i strongly recommend that you buy one because there is a skill to it. Finally your driving instructor should be able to help you out with this because regardless of how long they have been instructing, all instructors have had to take and pass this test in order to continue instructing.
This test is anything but luck and don't click loads until you pass the hazard, you run the risk of scoring 0 for over clicking! as i said, 3 clicks is sufficient.
You need a score of 44 or over to pass, the programme is designed to look for rhythmic clicking or over clicking. As long as you only click as advised you should be ok!!
Final piece of advice, you don't have to point the cursor at the hazard, it will register no matter where the cursor is on the screen, so don't spent time trying to point at it just click when you see the problem!
Good luck with the test!
its just luck trust me the first time i did it i passed that part no problem , thought it was easy but failed the other part, then second time i got it the other way about, i was gutted! but seriously its just luck, and good luck hunni hope you do better than me! xx
Is it worth taking again if you fail on your 1st attempt? I've never heard of anyone failing who has then gone on to pass their practical test.
I just passed mine a few days ago. Just make sure you click as early as you can when you see a hazard developing. I know it says you will get a big red X if you click inappropriately but when you see a hazard, keep clicking until you're passed it then you'll be sure you've registered it!
I'm a driving Instructor I had to do it recently. If your an expierenced driver its a lot harder, cause you tend to assess the situation and disregard it, as in the real world.
My advice is treat it as if you where the insecure boring civil servant who's only expeirence of travelling on british roads is on a bus, that came up with it, everything is a hazard even road signs so click on everything and if it developes click again.
Good Luck
I passed first time, yeah i know, bas***d, if you are driving for real just think about the dangers that would be there for real, like kids, horses, cars overtaking and lorries turning, and dont be too keen to hammer away but also look ahead for dangers like crossings and junctions, side streets and things like that, and lastly RELAX, if you are still worried talk to your examiner about it and they might have some advice, good luck, post an answer yourself if you pass.
