I actually phoned my local council's road safety officer about this a couple of weeks ago and he said that there are no current laws or regulations and that although unadvisable, a child can sit in the front seat, on a booster, wearing a seat belt. In his opinion, if an air bag is fitted in the front passenger side, he said that a child should only sit in the front if absolutely necessary and that the front seat should be moved as far back as possible.

You should not let a child sit in the front seat of a car if the child in under the age of 12 at least due to air bags. If an air bag deploys, it could literally kill the child.
i dont think they can sit in the front with a boster seat. but the age thing is 8 years and 80 pounds. but thats for the booster/carseat in the back not the front.

Never in the front with a booster seat. Air bags can and have killed small children. The recommend age for a child in the front seat is 12.
the best place for any child is in a car/booster seat in the back
if you've no room in the back then as long as they are in a forward facing seat, the car seat is as far back as it will go and if possible the airbag is turned off they can go in the front from any age in the appropriate car seat, a booster seat is from about 3 years old depending on the size of the child
i sometimes have to have a child in the front of my car when we have friends from school home and this is what i do, it's better than them not being restrained at all.
Well there's a new law out in England that says that all children 12years and under have to use a booster chair, or if the child is shorter then 4ft? But I'm sure if you have the correct booster seat then the child can sit there?

as long as they can sit on there own unaide on a boosterseat (cushion type) or the the full seat is properly fitted any age
my sons car seat didn't fit in rear so had to fit it in the front and he was only 3 if proper fitted then they can sit any where . it just from age of 14 they are responsible for their own safety
