What is the percentage of aluminium in an car engine with aluminium head and block ?

How much aluminium in terms of weight percentage in an car engine made up of aluminium head and aluminium block. I know this will depend on every engine but I just wanted to have an approximate idea !

Answers:
Approximately 28% and it won't matter on the size of engine either
well some just have aluminium head or heads some are all aluminium heads and block hope this helps.
Aluminium is light and steel liners and cranks and rods heavy so an educated guess 10% with wet liners perhaps 20% with Nikasil bores.
Not all cars have aluminium, block and head. I know in the latest BMW engine they use magnesium alloy, which has reduced the weight considerably compared to an aluminium engine
i don't know the answer to your question but my new zimmerframe has 2% walking is good for me
well i think it could be around 28% why do you ask?
hi D. why you asking that question? Ya thinkin of halfinchin engines. To take to the scrap yards. copper is better than aluminium. get more for it tee hee and it's heavier.
