Don't know when it's going to US but have driven one and think they are overypriced gadget filled rubbish. Look much better than they are. The auto gearbox has a frightening lag. Sorry so negative but I was very disappointed.
Should be there by August next year. But for god sake don't buy one. They built one car that handles superbly (not sure which one), but the rest of the range will fail to steer at all when doing high speeds (over 50)! Overpriced, over-rated, poorly built rubbish. And the gearbox doesn't know what it is!! You select change gear and it goes through the questions, "Am I a Rotary washing line?, am I a Microwave? AOH I'm a gearbox, I'm supposed to move some cogs around make it go faster!" it takes around 6 seconds for a flappy-padel gearbox to change gear. If you don't get a proper manual you should euphonise yourself! If fact if you buy one at all you should be killed!!
Don't be fooled 'Smart' is a misnomer. Buy a car with some metal round you so that when that idiot in the truck crashes into you, you have a better chance of survival.
