What is the best route by car from Wolverton, Milton Keynes to central Watford?

Need to start at 9:30 am and need to avoid rush hour traffic and M1 widening problems. Any suggestions?

Answers:
A5 dual carriageway, A4146 through Stoke Hammond and along to the Three Locks PubTurn right and head to Soulbury. Take the road to Wing as you exit Soulbury. In Wing follow the signs for Mentmore. Pass Mentmore Golf Club and into Cheddington. Follow the road into Ivinghoe. In Ivinghoe turn right and keep going until you see the A41. Get on to the A41 Southbound. Follow the A41 until you come to the required exit for Watford.

It's a nice journey.

Get up earlier, drive to the train station, and then get on the train, no traffic jam's or stress.;
