Would anybody know where I might find information on the Lytham rail smash of 1924? Thanks in advance for any help given.
Answers:
"Derailment of a train with Lytham followed by a fire in the lit cars to gas, 15 dead" found on a French site, but nothing more there.
Perhaps the records office at Lytham might be the place to contact?
Jill did better than I. I checked a number of UK sites, and the closest I came was a Crash during the Morecombe Festival that year. Not sure if they are related, but there was nothing on Lytham sites.
There is a book called something like "Railway Accidents and Disasters" and I think the author was S. Nock.
I borrowed a copy from the library about three years ago.
