What is the new land speed record and what/who achieved it?

Answers:
Andy Green driving Thrust SCC at 763mph in 1997 :)
it was a couple of years ago. that makes it old. no new one's since then. but it was set by some english dude who went over a kazillion miles per hour. google 'art arfons' for some cool boat speed records.
The current record holder is the British ThrustSSC, which achieved 763 mph driven by Andy Green (a Royal Air Force fighter pilot), several runs during September - October 1997.
