Just had the worst Train Journey in my life?
Answers:
I can beat that.
When I was at Uni The journey from home used to take about 2 1/2 hours on 1 Virgin Train, which is very good as far as I'm concerned. Once, this same jouney took me 8 hours to complete using a total of 3 Virgin trains and 2 buses. I complained and got a free return journey out of them so its worth phoning them up or writing a letter.
Having said that, I still think Virgin trains are pretty good. I used them for two years on a fairly regular basis and that was the only time they really fucked up big time. Also, most of it wasnt due to inept staff, just unfortunate circumstances. So I think Virgin gets a lot of stick when actually they're not that bad.
But still complain because you will get free stuff.
Erm Virgin maybee.duh!
My journey was worse - I was sat next to you.
We have BART. The trains used to go out of service during a commute which guaranteed squish city. I understand that it's the same in Japan. I'm alergic to some men's aftershave and people would pour it on in the mornings. I have had to get off and be late to work because other peoples perfumes would rub off on my clothes. (we don't have bathrooms on our trains, just some of the stations). The financial district people would by over $300.00 brief cases so they could set them on end and sit or lean on them. Never enough seats.
