As a new motor trade business in the UK, how do I apply for motor trade licence plate?

Go to the DVLA, they can give you an idea of how many licence plates you'll need depending on the size of your business.
The rubber plates holders are a good idea too, otherwise the plates can damage paintwork.
I think it's through DVLA (Swansea) if you live in England. If you are in US then i dont know. Good luck
you need to apply to dvla for a trade plate this will cost you a fee and you will be given a regestration number regestered to you or your garage and it will be your responsability for any vehicle thats on the road at any given time with your trade plates on it although the vehicle carrying the trade plates doesnt need tax or mot you can either apply directly to dvla swansea or go to your local vehicle licensing authority and apply their or you can go on to the dvla web site at www.direct.gov.uk/motoring

Andrew is correct. You have to make contact with the licencing authority, either the DVLA or your local authority and apply through them. They must be satisfied that you are a legitimate trader and will inspect your premises, insurance etc. I recall local police checking traders in this area on behalf the licencing authority.

You need to contact DVLA and they will ask you few Question and may call your car lots to check out that you are a trader and you then will pay a fee for a trade plate go to DVLA website and check out more info or contact them either way and good luck.
