White is normally one way traffic and yellow signifies two way or no passing.
For several reason: To keep traffic in each side. then there are two and broken line in the middle. I on your side is solid white, it means "No passing". Then there's a white line on the outside of the road. That means, you can't go outside if that line!!
white just reflects more light, where as most colors absorb light.
