How do i change a water pump on a rover 214Si 16 valve?
Answers:
By the time you've bought all of the tools it would be cheaper to take it to a garage. average price is £70 to £100 to renew the belt as a single task. obviously this would be done with the pump so expect to pay a couple of hundred pounds all in.
take it to a good mechanic
take it to a reputable garage. It will be cheaper in the long run. They are a b*tch to work on.
Take it to the garage, it is not a good DIY one, something to do with the cam belt, possibly an engine out job
if you really need to ask then take it to a mechanic.
Get the water pump fitted in a garage.
Its not a job for a beauty beauty therapist or a dancer :)
get a manual and follow the step by step instructions basically you need to loosen your alternator and remove the auxillary belt to remove the water pump space is tight but it can be done a haynes manual is invaluable i have worked cars for years and i still use them good luck
first off all you need a cam belt as this is part of the job
then you nedd to suport the engine as you have to take off the engine mount
if you need more info will e mail it to you as this is quite a long proses

throw it in canal wont need a pump
water pump is belt driven on these cars so timing belt off before you can remove it.
garage job unless your confident with timing belts.
