Can anyone recomend a good breakdown company for my car. Had it for years and starting to make noises - thanks

adac are the cheapest(AA is part of their company) bought it for me and wife for 95euros annually.
it covers all Europe and north America.
they even fly you if you are unable to drive(medical reasons)
been with them for years and always will be.
you even get a magazine once a month in German(very handy that is).

A good breakdown company is the RAC but i think u need a garage.
I've just joined Green Flag after being recommended by a number of people on Yahoo Answers. But yeah, if it's starting to make noises might be best to get it checked out at a garage.
