hi I just get a 91 xj cherokee ! and want to buy a diagostic scan tool ! I was wondering what to buy ? an OBD I or OBD II ?

the jeeps computer is internal. turn the key on then off, on / off, on, off. (three times) dont start it just turn on. the check engine light should blink the code. you will need a book to read the codes
If you are unsure of which one to buy, why not contact Jeep? They would be able to tell you.
ODB I and is a chrysler style.. as someone said, if it's after Chrysler took over them. cycle the key on and off three times for the code ..codes will flash thru check engine light
