Just had a quote for my Ford KA..?

Just had a quote for a new clutch for a Ford KA and its costing me £230 do you think thats reasonable? Help!

The clutch itself will cost £60 ish

It will take about 4 hours to do - £30 ish an hour.

New Gearbox oil will be needed - £10 ish

Anything close to £200 is reasonable!

Bear in mind, changing a clutch is one of the most complicated procedures your car will routinely need - it means stripping the engine and gearbox apart!
is that from a ford dealership ? get another 2 or maybe 3 , always best to shop around
I had a price this morning for my vectra. £295 inc VAT.

I called a few other places and told them (an ickle fib) I'd had a price for £220 and this other garage beat the price by £40.00

So now its costing £180

Ring around and tell them you've had a cheaper price. see what they come up with!

Best advice to is to get a quote from a number of garages, and ford official dealer garages and compare them all.
Bring it here. I-lldo it for $150.00 .

clutch gear oil & fluid plus labour its not a cheap job
unless you go to a back street gararge
then there is no garentee with the work
