Do you think in the UK we should display a insurance disc in our windscreen like we do with tax?
Answers:
Not a bad idea, although this information is readily available to police, it might be useful to other agencies like traffic wardens etc, & it would make a check on a vehicle much quicker ( though there would undoubtedly be masses of fake documents displayed) But if you've nothing to hide (dont mean you personally) then there should be no reason for anyone to feel intimidated by such a scheme
I think that is an excellent idea!
No, I don't think it's necessary. You can't get car tax without insurance so you shouldn't need to display both.
Sure. Evidence that you, too, are being looted by the insurance companies--just as all the other slaves--I mean, subjects.
that would def work you could even go as far as having an mot style one too!
Yes, That way you can be certien that the person has insurance. Just a way of making life easier!
yes as long as its no extra expenses.
It's compulsory in Southern Ireland. I think we should have it over here too. There are too many uninsured drivers on the road. I got hit behind by one and it cost ME a furtune.
yes definately we do in ireland and we also have an m.o.t. disc so that the police know that the car is roadworthy it doesn't help with the number of deaths though unfortunately i think its due to poor roads and very little street lighting
Legal owners/drivers would have no objections I'm sure, but it would only make more work for the forgers.
Yes good idea they already do this in Eire .
No , because it is all on computer now and the police can tell if it is insured by just typing in you reg number. I dont think we should have anything in the window because having a tax disk is a waste of time, put a couple of pence more on tax of petrol then more you use , the more tax you pay. Most of the tax disk money surely goes on the paperwork to set the system up in the first place? and not on improving the roads.
Yes. Excellent idea.
With the computer systems now in use, and the SORN system in place the DVLA and police should now know which cars have not had their tax paid, so I think the tax disc could be phased out.
It should be replaced with an MOT disc (the Northern Ireland test stations issue these now, but displaying them isn't compulsory) and an insurance disc.
These should be smaller than the current disc, so they obstruct vision less.
you pay tax!! hahaha not a scouse then
