Why does diesel cost more than petrol it costs much less to refine?
Answers:
there is a large demand for diesel fuel so the oil companies are cashing in and naturally it has to do with politics.
Ah! What price popularity!! Diesel's still less costly here where I live.
Do you remember when diesel used to cost much less than gas? It is a simple matter of supply and demand. The oil industry that so willingly screws us royal with gas prices, is screwing those who want and need diesel.
Thats a good question M8,i wish i knew as well as i run a diesel car,i reckon they think as you get more miles per gallon then ypu should pay more?
because there are more petrol engines than diesel ones so its demand "justifies" its price
I agree with the gentleman who says it's because you get more miles per gallon. They have to fleece us one way or another!
The reason diesel is more expensive is because the government puts a higher tax on it because diesel cars produce more harmful emissions. Its a strange coincidence that the government didn't mention this when they made diesel cheaper to get us all to go over to it, then bang the price up.
It doesn't in Belgium, Holland, France, Germany or Italy! It's Westminster rippin' us off so they can pay their NHS middle managment cronies. Thought that was obvious??
Because the Government cottoned onto the fact6 that diesel was far more efficient than Unleaded hence why the majority of people who did quite a lot of travelling tended to buy diesel cars.
They are still vastly more economical to run, the government know it, hence the price rise
because more people are now buying it. The petrol companies are just ripping us off!
Just another way of ripping motorist.
It's a transportation fuel used in trucks, so you are paying corperation level tax on it.
use red
If they invented a car that ran on water they would charge more for water than for petrol or diesel; you will never win.
Covert to LPG, bio or whatever, it will all end up costing as much!
governments taxes
Diesal used to be a lot cheaper because most cars driven in the uk was leaded or unleaded and performance suffered greatly Now the new diesal engines can just about meet the same performance as unleaded cars and there were more people changing each year to diesal to save money hence more demand more tax for the government.
They dont miss a thing.
thats an interesting question but hard to understand lol
because the goverment are awair that people are changing to diesal because you get better mpg so they put the price up. gotta fleece you somehow dont they! why dont the bandits in the goverment start wearing masks like most daylight robbers do?! lol
