What is the most reliable and cheapest car to buy and run in Britain today?

Answers:
If you want reliability and will start every time, buy something japanese, Toyota, honda, just buy Japanese, for cheapness try Daihatsu, they're an off branch of Toyota, just like Lexus.

Japanese cars seem to be good on fuel economy too

Just don't but Kia or Proton or the other makes from that part of the world lol
ford ka
The new look Skoda or Mini's do well.
dont know about cheapest but reliable Audi A4 gotta be
.micra
KIA RIO - have had several Kia`s for years and never had
any problems.
The Audi range are all reliable , if you can find an A2 second hand with a 1.4 diesel engine you will get 60mpg and 48mpg with the petrol version.
My A4 2.5 diesel V6 is absolutely reliable and is returning 46.2 mpg after 62000 miles (the computer tells me this), what is more it is a joy to drive and is very safe as the brakes are brilliant !
I have mostly had and kept Toyotas for years and years. I now have two, a 93 with 2.2Litre and a 2006 1.5. Both are great, a perfect blend of economy, style, and dependability.
The very small cars, especially from the orient can be very undependable, so I understand!
