How long does a standing mile take in a fast car? (Mercedes SLR or something similar)?
Answers:
id say 25-30 seconds
mine takes 15.35 seconds
Can't answer the question because it's to vague! It would depend on the vehicle, the engine size and horsepower, and the conditions involved.
Based on a Merc' SLR, which does 0 - 60mph on just over 3 seconds. I would say, that it would take, very close to, 50 seconds to complete one mile (from a standing start).
Fastest production car: McLaren F1 @ 386.46km/h (240.14mph)
Land speed record: Thrust SSC @ 1227.98km/h (763.03mph)
Fastest electric car: White Lightning @ 395.821km/h (245.951mph)
A bit of fun.
Rowan Atkinson used to own a McLaren F1, till he totalled it. Nice going Bean..
A standing quarter mile will take around 12 seconds by which time the car will be doing around 125 mph, as a roungh guide I would say to double that for the mile to make it 25 seconds
