Tensioner cog on cam belt gone how much will it cost me?

I don't know offhand, but a ford Mondeo tensioner cost about £70, maybe you need to drain and flush the oil, to get rid of the bits of cog which will be floating in your engine. It sounds like you know what you are doing with an engine so could tackle the job yourself ? You will need to replace the belt as well, as it's been put under a lot of stress, and the gasket since you'll have the head off to change the belt / tensioner. At least the valves will be OK.

Go to a scrap yard DO NOT Start engine untill it is replaced,If the belt slackens or breaks you can kiss goodbye to complete engine.
it depends if your belt skipped some teeth, if so possibley valves are bent and need replacing, so its a head off job, go to a mechanic to get it looked at,
Dont drive youve been lucky if the belt slips you will have serious engine damage get it repaired and sell it rovers 214s are renowned for probs heads,camshafts especially.
