If I can't find any coolant for my car is it okay to use water?

Answers:
it would be ok for a little while . you wont have any heat . if it gets cold you could get a frozen engine.
yes, but you'll need to add anti-freeze to it soon as the weather is closing in and without it your cooling system won't work in Winter!!
It is OK as a temporary measure, however without the coolant, the water is more likely to boil or freeze. I ran my car on water alone for weeks and it was OK.
Why can't you find "coolant"? It's readily available in Walmart,
K-Mart, Target, every auto parts store, truck stops, most gas stations, convienent stores, grocery stores etc!
If all of them are out (I highly doubt) then yes you can use straight water but if you live in a climate that experiences cold temps for the winter months then you definitely need anti-freeze very soon.
it really depends on your car.If you have an older model car it is okay but MOST of today's cars REQUIRE coolant. If you cant find it,try looking at walmart.
yes you can..it wont hurt anything unless your temps fall below 32 degrees F..but it is wise if you find some anti freeze as soon as possible to add to your system.
You need to use anti freeze because of the cold weather, and it also raises the boiling point of the water in Summer Time. The engine will run hot with just water. There has to be a place to buy antifreeze where you live.
Water is the most effective coolant, however, it is prone to freezing in cold weather and will not protect against corrosion.

thus you should add an appropriate anti-freeze as soon as you can because that will also inhibit corrosion.
Its fine, although I would look into getting your hands on some anti-freeze as soon as you can, as Winter is almost here.
If the temperature was to drop below 0, then the water in the engine cooling system would freeze. This expansion can crack the engine block, causing irreparable damage!
It is ok as a temporary measure, but not only does anti-freeze prevent freezing, it also prevents overheating, and the pure water in your radiator can accelerate rusting.

I wouldn't use it for more than one month. Have your radiator flushed, and then add the anti-freeze.
if you keep that up you will not have a car very soon
you can but dont.. you will spoil ure engine, i tried dat n added anti freeze and now me garage dead and the dealers told me it was coz of dat
yes until it gets cold then you need an equal amount of antifreeze so you dont get your radiatior frozen up and over heat your motor
As long as the outdoor temperature doesn't get below freezing.
Yes water will be fine, but it would be best to go and buy some coolant/antifreeze and add that as soon as possible as winter is on its way.
only to get to store to buy antifreeze. water freezes in winter boils in summer and rusts the motor..
Only very temporarily, I don't see how you cant find antifreeze, you'll get it in any car shop or DIY shop, or even some of the big supermarkets. It would be advisable to get some rather soon however, not only is the cold weather on its way, but running a modern car on plain water is quite harmful as regards to corrosion, it easily corrodes aluminium, it will corrode the water pump, can cause rust in the waterways in the block and will eventually lead to the cylinder head gasket failing as it will rust this as well. Most modern antifreezes contain corrosion inhibitors to stop the above from happening and it should be present in the system at all times.
Oh for goodnes sake coolant is WATER
As mentioned you add antifreeze to prevent freezing or other additives which act as a corrosion inhibitor and anti sludge
normal ratio is 50% but usually in uk 25% is more than sufficient
