After hitting a kerb quite hard my car now rocks from side to side is this due to wheel alignment?

I skidded on the road due to surface water and my wheel took most of the force now it rocks side to side but only when below 30mph is this due to my wheel alignment being knocked out of sync or something more serious and expensive?

Good thing you didn't hit a CURB, it could have been lots worse.
you have damaged the track rods on your car they are attached to your steering system and will affect the alignment of the wheels
Could be lots a factors, more likely to be your steeling alignment, possibly even a bent wheel..worth getting it checked out tho.
Sounds like you have bent a wheel
just guessing but it sounds like you have a bent wheel - jack it up in the air and give it a spin and it will be easy to see if you did.
tracking is probly a mile out u might have also bent the wish bone.
That could be it. But it could be anything with the steering system. It could even be the tire rim. Best to take it to be checked by a mechanic that you trust. Please.the damage could make the car unsafe!
I think your car being mis-aligned is the least of your worries. There may be many things that are wrong, a bent axle, suspension might be broken, or your wheel might be bent. You should really take it to a good mechanic to get it looked at, cause it may cause major problems if you let it linger on.
More than likely what has happened is that your tire rim is bent. I'm talking about the rim that your tire is mounted/balanced on. Another possibility is the tire has a "bubble" from you hitting the curb.
that didn't help it none,,and you probably have a bent rim on it,,and even more damage to the front suspension,,than you can see,,you need to take it,,and have it checked out real good,,and make sure it is safe to drive,,i own a repair shop,,and from experience,,id say you have done some damage to the front end of it,,and it may be a little unsafe to drive right now,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
Go to the local tire shop and have them look at it Yes it is out of alignemnt but how much , what the damage is will effect the cost.
I would front-end alignment, but check with Amoco or another reputable business to get the actual deal. Good fortune, buddy.
I dunno.let me ask my daughter. She did that this summer.

Goddess Bless!
I think that there is a problem with the brakes.
Do you mean the steering wheel rocks side to side? If so the wheel is buckled, if this is minor you may be able to have it balanced to correct it. If not you will need a new wheel. For now put the spare wheel on and see if that cures it. You may also have knocked out your wheel alignment (tracking) but this will not cause the car to shake, it would make it pull to one side. A tyre specialist will be able to do all this for you and they will also be able to check the steering and suspension for damage.
sounds like a bent wheel, but it could be a bent rod too either way you should get that fixed unnecessary vibrations could losen tie rods and if they break you lose control of the vehicle
Stop drink driving you pr!ck.
Sounds like you bent the wheel, Put the spare on and try it.
If it cures it get a wheel from a breaker, better still a matched pair, make sure it is the right one from the same model, width, offset, spigot, tyre size etc.
If the steering wheel is straight when you are up to speed and the car goes straight on level road hands off and brakes straight on a level road hands off, the alignment is probably ok, dont get crap fit to do a free alignment check because they will say its out and charge a fortune to adjust it and probably make it worse. They aint got enough brain power to check camber, castor or KPI an if they could they would not have a clue how to adjust anything so try a garage with motorsport connections.
The alignment is right when tyres wear evenly, different makes of tyre need different alignments and for motorway work almost everything needs 0 degrees toe in for best tyre life.
I got 3000 miles from a new pair of Marshalls because they needed different alignment from Couriers which have done 15 000 and are still legal.
Put the spare on.
For the benefit of American numpties, we have 'kerbs' in England. You may have buckled a wheel, or damaged the track control arm, bent the strut, bent the wishbone, bent the rack. any of those according to what is fitted to the car. You should get it checked soon in case it has become dangerous.
It's possible that you have bent the track rod.

Take it to Kwik Fit/ATS. They usually charge about £20 for a wheel alignment.
Have you checked to see if the wheel is still attached to the car?
