How do you clean k&n induction kits/air filters?

K&N makes a cleaning kit with a special spray you put on the filter after cleaning. It tells you in the directions how to clean it. Or you can check out the site below for more info if you'd like!
K&N supplies a cleaner kit for their filters. It contains some special type of oil. I would not use anything else.
some guys use soap and water, and let em dry out..i use industrial meths. dunk them, swish em around a bit, and leave to drain and dry.
i say DRY, because meths is very inflammable..but it leaves no residue behind. so leave the filter at least an hour in the sunshine..
With K&N cleaner oil. You can use an air hose to blow off larger debris if you blow from the inside out. Then coat the air filter with the K&N oil.

Halfords sell k&n air filter cleaner.it costs about £16 i think.You get a cleaner which you spray onto the filter and leave for a while,you then rinse it off and leave it to drip dry.i dont think you blow them with an air line because this damages the element.After its dry yoy spray it with the oil.this is red.If you put too much on it will choke your carb.If you put too much on just leave it for a few days and the excess will run off.You can do your filter a few times with the quantity they sell it in..mind you you're supposed to be able to leave it for 50,000 miles.If you've got a friend with one split the cost,you'll be able to do 2 no problem.
