if you remove the dash and look behind it there is a small switch you just operate the switch job done
Tighten the belt.
If it's too worn, replace it.
If you can't be arsed take the bulb out of the warning light.
Put out the light!.You could try fixing the problem.

If it is a timing belt warning light, I'd get the timing belt checked and/or changed pronto! If that belt breaks then you are going to see mechanical mayhem on an absolutely wallet-bending scale. You could easily destroy your engine as the pistons slam into the valves, breaking cams and smashing bits of metal into the head..
Get it seen-to.. NOW!!
If it's a '96 and hasn't been changed, then change it and don't worry about the light.
If a dealership can't clear the light, then a large caliber handgun will certainly do the trick.
you pull out the clock face, ther you will find a butten hold with ingnition on for about 30 sec then the light goes out.
remove the dash pod..4 screws,,,at the rear there is a hole to reset the light
You do not turn it of its a warning light to tell you that you time belt needs to be changed. If you leave it untill it snaps it will cause you more than 800 bucks damage to your wallet. Take your car to the garage immediately. I know, i have charged a few guys who have neglected their warning lights a couple of hundred bucks.
