Hi did you know if your car is a Rover 75 with the big number plate the camera cannot get it as it is confused about the shape , this is true , I know a lot of Police , I was told cause I have one , I have got caught by a radar though ! ( well my hubby has)
The cameras with lilnes on the road (gatso) can only 'nick' you from behind, not as you approach. Sometimes they flash when you approach, but dont worry.
all dependant on the speed when you pass a gatso meaures speed over a distance therefor if you are travelling in a 30mph area and doing 28 then as your 5 yds away ioncrease to 40 mph the gatso will not be able to record your speed.
Yes it just depends which way they are facing, The pictures are horrible clear as well. The one of me took the whole of the car, number plate and me,even the shirt I was wearing was a clear as day.

There are two (or maybe three) sorts now. The yellow box ones can only get you from behind but the new ones that look like spy cameras can measure the distance and time before you get there and snap a picture of thge culprit. You can't then claim someone else was driving .. believe me, the photo is good!!
To be on the safe side, you should slow down when you
approach the gatso speed camera which can capture any
speeding car very clearly. Don't take chances, if you're not
sure which direction it is aiming at and by the time you know
it, it's too late for you then.
With the latest camera technology, they can do everything
possible.
