How do I remove the door panel of a rover 416 to change the speakers?

what age is the car? it varies depending on what mark it is.
Dont know about the mk1 - very boxy - up to G reg i think
The mk 2 is easy, if your careful you can prise off the fabric cover without removing the door panel, slide a screwdriver under the rear edge and CAREFULLY prise it up, there are 2 tabs under there that break easily. Alternatively, there are screws around the edges and also in the bottom of the handle and behind the opening handle. lift it off, it hooks into the window aperture. Unclip the electrical connectors and set it aside, fit your new speaker and reassemble in reverse of dismantling.
I think the mk3 is similar but i can't be sure.

HAVE A LOOK ON THE EDGES OF THE PANEL YOU SHOULD FIND SCRES THERE ARE SCREWS ON THE ARM REST EASE BACK CHROME PIECES ON WINDOW WINDERS IF NOT ELECTRIC AND RELEASE CLIP ON THEBOTTOM CAREFULLY PLACE A WIDE KNIFE AND EASE THE PANEL AWAY FROM THE DOOR IT IS HELD ON WITH PUSH CLIPS
They sould just pop off if you pull them, but take care cos the little plastic poppers like to snap and you cant get them back on.
if you dont have electric windows the bloody arm can be a pain. use a rag to get the clip out from behind and make shure it does not ping to the other end of the room.
