What do you think of LDV vans old and new.?

Answers:
The old ones were very outdated - crude, slow, uncomfortable, unrefined, poor access (the side-load-door wasn't tall enough).

The new Maxus is an excellent van - it would have gone to the top of the class had it been launched to the original schedule. However I don't yet know how well it is built, and its too early to know if it will be as durable as a Transit.

I can't believe people who aren't aware of the new Maxus are answering this question.
You can pick these up very cheap second hand, and actually they are a very good van for the money. But I would rather go for the ford transit any day. (PLEASE SEE THE POST BELOW)
crap . im driving one now
crap crap crap
i wont my lwb tranny back from the garage
they are very dated designs.
the basic convoy is the old Sherpa 400/200
the chassis is old, the engine is old

the samll van (Cub?) is a rebadged japenese import, so is probably quite good, but small

LDV didnt generate enouugh sales to reinvest in a new model so has been left behind by the competition.

they are quite capable load carrying vehicles, and like all commercial transactions it depends what you are paying. A friend uses an ex post office Convoy with roller shutter and swears by it (hes had it for 4..5 years and never had a fault, its done masses of miles (150K+) and still going strong, another swears at it.
LDV. Sh*it. Total Sh*it.
